Homework

Homework

Each week students will bring home a "homework folder" which they will have activities to complete. Each month a reading journal will be sent home as well as a math journal.

Students are expected to read 20 minutes per night.  Reading is the most important part of your child's education.  Please make sure they are reading nightly.

Your son or daughter will have homework daily in Reading and Math.  This homework should take no longer than 20-30 minutes.  It is important to review your child's homework every day and look through their folder with them.

For major assignments you will have plenty of notice for projects and other assignments.

For any questions or concerns please contact me.  Thank you.

Welcome!

Welcome to my classroom!  I am very happy to have your child in my classroom. I believe that by all of us working together we can make this a very successful year.  I consider it of prime importance that you be an active part of your child's education.  You are invited to email/phone me or visit the school when you have a question concerning your child's progress.
If you have expertise in a specific field, an unusual hobby, or have a different culture that you would like to share, please let me know.  I would be happy to visit with you about the possibility of your sharing with the class.
I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your child's teacher this year, and look forward to meeting each of you. Through the remainder of this letter, I will share some of my beliefs and classroom policies.
I believe that parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with parents through notes, telephone calls, emails, report cards and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.  I am available for conferences regarding your child’s progress from 8:00a.m. to 8:30am., and 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment on school days.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
